Important Antique Microscopes
of the Golub Collection

Dr. Steven Ruzin will describe the most important instruments in the Golub collection, both at Berkeley and still in Dr. Orville Golub’s private collection. These include a Marshall (1710), Adams (1740, 1773), and several others. Many were originally in the famous Nachet Collection of Paris.

Bio Sketch

Dr. Steven Ruzin is the facility director of the College of Natural Resources Biological Imaging Facility at University of California, Berkeley. The Biological Imaging Facility functions as an instructional and research laboratory for all aspects of modern biological light microscopy for the campus. Dr. Ruzin teaches several classes: Techniques in Light Microscopy, Plant and Animal Microtechnique, and Digital Imaging. He has written a book entitled Plant Microtechnique and Microscopy and is the curator of the Golub Historical Microscope Collection.
