The Golub Microscope Collection

Dr. Steven Ruzin will describe the antique microscope collection donated by Dr. Orville Golub to the University of California, Berkeley. Currently on display in Berkeley are most of the nearly 100 microscopes from the 17th-20th Centuries representing several types including; simple, tripod, cuff-style, Gould, solar and achromatic varieties.

Bio Sketch
Dr. Steven Ruzin is the facility director of the College of Natural Resources Biological Imaging Facility at University of California, Berkeley. The Biological Imaging Facility functions as an instructional and research laboratory for all aspects of modern biological light microscopy for the campus. Dr. Ruzin teaches several classes: Techniques in Light Microscopy, Plant and Animal Microtechnique, and Digital Imaging. He has written a book entitled Plant Microtechnique and Microscopy and is the curator of the Golub Historical Microscope Collection.
