Science and Religion: Can they learn to live with each other?

by

Murray Peshkin
Senior Theoretical Physicist
Argonne National Laboratory

Friday January 20, 2006

I will contribute to the needed dialog by presenting this scientist's understanding of what science is about, how we know when we have it right, what are the limitations of science, and how science and religion can live respectfully with each other.

Bio Sketch
Murray Peshkin is a senior theoretical physicist at Argonne National Laboratory. He has worked in diverse areas of physics, most recently on foundational questions in quantum mechanics. His interest in the interface between science and religion stems from his desire to avert a collision between the two that threatens serious damage to both.
