Homicide by Hospital

Dr. James G. O'Donnell, D.O.

Dr. O'Donnell will present an unajudicated case of first degree murder that he has investigated. A patient enters a hospital alive on 12-30-2000; his death certificate reads Death by Natural Causes: No Trauma or Poisoning on 1-5-2001. What took place between these two dates is revealed by a subsequent forensic autopsy. Microscopy, medical evidence, and discussions of this case with Dr. McCrone as it progressed will illustrate criminal thought, motive, intent, solicitation, conspiracy, attempt, committed offence, and cover-up.

SMSI Minutes 24 Jan 03

Homicide by Hospital

Systematically answering the right questions, Dr. James G. O'Donnell in collaboration with the late Dr. Walter C. McCrone proved a case of first degree murder by a hospital staff for the SMSI audience. Using test results which the hospital did not have time to destroy, a case of hyperglycemic, hyperosmolar non-ketotic coma was induced which resulted in death. Trauma due to unauthorized introduction and forceful removal of a Foley catheter and a fractured right femur were proven; however, the death certificate stated no trauma: resipsy. This case now going to court involves an additional charge of failure to take complaint.

Respectfully submitted, Stan Schmidt, Recording Secretary
